Stiffer and more massive than any comparable size boring bar. The outrigger is welded directly to the bar, reducing the overall width of the bar and providing an improved range of horizontal motion. Supplied with a 3/16” dual angle scraper holder and bit for straight or offset hollowing. These bars work best when paired with guarded ring cutters such as the Munro Hollower II or the Sorby Sovereign Ultima Hollowing system. Put one of these cutters in one of our 1 1/4” boring bars, and you can turn 33” over the tool rest. Bored for 5/8” diameter tools and supplied with a brass reducing bushing that will accommodate ½” tools for added versatility. A wide variety of cutting and scraping tools will fit in our bars. The back end of the bar is drilled for the included safety pin to prevent accidentally pulling the bar through the trap.
